PURPOSE
FARO Services has set procedures for hiring of employees that must be strictly followed at all times. Potential employees that don't supply the adequate information written within this SOP will not be hired by FARO Services.
SCOPE
This SOP applies to all personnel working at the FARO Services facility located at 3275 Alum Creek Drive, Columbus Ohio 43207 and 6435 Commerce Court Drive, Groveport Ohio 43125. It also applies to all off-site staff working at McGraw-Hill, Marzetti and Big Lots.
PREREQUISITES
Potential employees can complete an application (SOP-001-01) to work at FARO Services at either the 3275 Alum Creek Drive, Columbus Ohio 43207 location or the 6435 Commerce Court Drive, Groveport, Ohio 43125 location.
Each individual must be at least 18 years old.
Before an invidivual can work for FARO Services, he/she must obtain a police background check.
If an individual is to be hired, he/she must complete Employee Application Packet (SOP-001-02).
In addition, each individual must provide a valid state issued ID card or a legal INS issued card as well as a legally issued Social Security Card.
RESPONSIBILITY
FARO Services currently has 3 associates who are responsible for the hiring of new employees. They are Lori Jones; HR Manager, Nancy Thompson; HR Supervisor, and Maria Avila; Office Supervisor.

Their roles include but are not limited to: checking applications for errors and that they are completed entirely and correctly. Checking and making copies of ID and SSN card. Confirming background check is signed. Creating employee file, placing all documentation inside the file, assigning an employee identification number and filing in employee cabinet.
PROCEDURE
When a potential employee arrrives for the first time at FARO Services, he/she is given a generic application (SOP-001-01) to complete.
Once completed, (at 3275 Alum Creek) the application is given to the security guard or (at 6435 Commerce Court Drive) the application is given to the office Supervisor.
If applicants are needed for work, they are called and notified to complete the employee application packet (SOP-001-02) and complete a brief job orientation.
Upon completing the application packet, he/she must provide a legal state issued ID card, or an INS issued green card or visa and a valid Social Security card. Copies will be made and placed in the employee's file. An original signed police background check is also placed in the file. An individual cannot work at FARO Services until all documents are presented and placed in the file.
Once the new hire administrator confirms all documentation is correct and valid, an employee identification number is provided and the individual is available to start work for FARO Services.

DEFINITIONS
Employee Application Packet – A more detailed version of the general application, includes W-2 form, Identification form, math test, etc.
State Issued ID Card – Can be a legally issued license or identification card from a state within the United States of America.
INS Issued Card – Can be a legally issued green card, or a visa card, temporary or permanent issued by the Immigration and Naturalization Service of the United States of America.
SSN Card – A legally issued Social Security card that pertains to said person inscribed upon card. Issued by the SSN office of the United States of America.
Police Background Check – A notarized record search from the county clerk of Franklin County listing any misdemeanors and/or felony's against the said individual.
