FARO Remote Client Overview

FARO Logistics Solutions provides remote client software free of charge to our customers and business partners with which you can use to remotely access FARO's logistics tracking system, FDS (Freight Distribution System).  The remote client software runs on Windows-based operating systems and requires internet access.

Setting Up an Account for Login

Please print out the Account Setup Request Form, fill it out and fax it back to the FARO IT Department at 614-492-2379.  Please allow 24 hours for processing the request.  Please make sure you fill out the contact information so you can be contacted if we have any questions on setting up your account.

Downloading Client Software

To download the software, click on each of the links below. When prompted, choose "Save this program to disk", and select a directory on your computer's local hard drive (such as C:\TEMP) when prompted.

Installing the Client Software

  1. In Windows Explorer or Program Manager, open the directory where you saved the downloaded files, and double-click on the file ica32.exe to start the setup program.  During the installation, accept the defaults at each given prompt (i.e. don't change the default program path, etc.).
  2. After the installation is completed, DO NOT run the client software.  You must call FARO at 614-497-1700 and request the IT department to obtain the password for installing the configuration file, appsrv.exe.  This file contains pre-configured ICA connections to FARO's servers.  Remember, the Account Setup Request Form (see above section Setting Up an Account for Login) must be processed and approved prior to receiving assistance.

Printing the User Documentation

Click on the link below to display the FDS user documentation.  The documentation can then be printed from your browser by selecting "Print" from the "File" menu.
